TMC Iloilo Vigor Victress Women’s Health Ambassador named
Adhara Alcudia Sebuado, co-founder of the Breastfeeding Ilonggas (BFI), a sole mother-to mother breastfeeding support group is the first-ever TMC Iloilo Vigor Victress Health Ambassador.
The said award was in partnership with JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang as part of the recently concluded “4th Ang Ilongga Awards: Search for Outstanding Woman Community Leaders” held at SM City Iloilo last July 5, 2019. From the top five finalists of the Ang Ilongga Awards, The Medical City Iloilo selected among them one finalist with a strong advocacy focused on women’s health.
Sebuado is one of the eight Ilongga mothers who founded Breastdfeeding Ilonggas (BFI), a support group which aids to break the stigma on breastfeeding and push a healthier community.
With the help of the breastfeeding group in Manila, BFI was created and has become a growing community of mothers and breastfeeding advocates in Iloilo and now spreading in other provinces in Panay Island.
“The Vigor Victress Award is our way of recognizing an ordinary woman turned extraordinary because of her dedication in promoting women’s health. Her notable contributions through health initiatives made a great impact in the society. Our Vigor Victress Awardee is someone who has overcome what we previously thought impossible.”, TMC Iloilo Chief Executive Officer Dr. Felix Ray P. Villa noted.
The Medical City Iloilo Women’s Health Center which was officially launched last March 14, 2019 spearheaded the said recognition.
